THE MUSE COMES TO THE MOVING BRUSH and Mermaids do too!

I've been contributing the occasional tag to Tag Tuesday and absolutely loving the creative artists who add their work to the site.

We moved just after I was invited to be a part of the group so I haven't submitted very often...and didn't think I would this week...but got this tag finished - and in - by the hair on my chinny, chin, chin.

Whoops! Me! Hair on MY chin. NO WAY. Well...maybe an occasional stray. But I digress.

The theme this week (ending today) is Mermaids and Water Babies and when I read that, I thought...YUK. I have NO ideas for a mermaid. None, nada, nunca. (I think that's a word). I just knew that it would be difficult for me to come up with something unusual considering the topic.

I thought about how much fun it would be when I finished the baby's quilt...who by the way is not quite here yet...to get back into stuff that I don't stress and worry over...like the tags. They're just pure fun and totally stress free. So anyway, I got the baby quilt blocks sewn together and when I sit down long enough to do something that isn't computer related, I'll add some paint to it.

But I needed a break from it last night and thought I'd work in my art journal. So out came my sketchbook, paper, scissors and glue stick. Next thing I knew I was cutting a mermaid tail out of an old piece of paper and voila...this came together.

All on her own...by herself...without any interference from me!

She emerged from the depths of the Sea. I think Neptune sent her and I think she's beautiful!

The muse really does come to the moving brush.

And...since Tag Tuesday always inspires me...I'm linking up to Inspire Me Monday.

    1. You might be right! I sure do LOVE the beach and ocean…more than any other place on earth.

And yes…big smile…I'm gonna paint on the quilt…but just a little.

  4. Synchronicity strikes again! Late last night I couldn't sleep so I pulled out an old stash of paper scraps and made a tag. I haven't made a tag in a year or more! Then this morning I find myself following your comment on my blog to your blog and voila, more tag art love. I love it when connections like this happen.

BTW I adore mermaid themes and paper dolls. Your tag reminds me of both!

Thanks for grabbing my attention this morning. Have a creative rest of the week.
