Today we have our second moon this month...otherwise known as a Blue Moon.
The shiny green fabric was stamped with my hand made alligator stamp. Need to work on that one. |
This only happens once in a blue moon...
nope that's not the moon...it's a street light near our building...which is ...right THERE |
so it's a special, magical day in my book.
I've seen many references to it...but have yet to see the actual moon itself.

I'll be looking tonight though.
The favorite thing I've read about it is from Nancy Privett's Facebook page. If you click here it'll take you to her website.
Barranquilla...out my window |
My pictures are of the progression on page 1 of my book, People Let Your Light Shine. The other pix are mostly of the view out my living room window. Nothing at all to do with the Blue Moon.
Page 1 - The Alligator Page - is kind of blue-ish (Well...it started out with lots of blue anyway) so it fits for today's post.
In honor of the Blue Moon of course.
It's not my favorite page of the book but I'm happy with the way it turned out although I've got my radar tuned into finding just the thing it needs.
Fireworks were set the night Claire was born. Sophia and I saw lots more but I didn't think about the camera until too late...almost. |
No rush. I often 'tweak' my projects for years if they hang around that long.
I got to keep Claire Bear by myself for about an hour while my daughter and hubby went grocery shopping this morning.

Then, hubby and I picked up her big sister from school.

annie!
I think he sees me! |
Enjoy the moon. I will be peaking at it tonight!

Beneath the same bright stars!
DeleteYeah, I don't know a thing about a blue moon except that it's still white...ok. I loved reading that you continue to tweak your projects as long as they are around and you discover a perfect tweak for them.
ReplyDeleteThis was a rather disjointed post because I was rushing in between grandchildren care. So I'm glad you got SOMEthing out it!
DeleteI love the pictures and your interpretation together! So free, colorful and thoughtful! And the way you inserted comments about Claire in the middle of it all! Cheers, CW
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire! I love your name! :) Honestly…this was a post that I didn't think much about because I was between 'babysitting' spots and rushed it…so I'm more than glad that you enjoyed. And it's always easy to slip the granddaughters into my posts!
DeletePS- Also thanks for the reminder about the Blue Moon. We will definetly take a walk tonight and look up in the sky! CW
ReplyDeleteYou're quite welcome! It was obscured by clouds but I got some pictures and it really did look blue!
DeleteNice pages! How lucky you had Claire all to yourself for a WHOLE HOUR! An hour of pure love for sure!
ReplyDeletePS The blue moon was great here in CC!
It was pure delight! Did you get pictures of the moon? Not that they'd really show up so great…but still. Thanks Robin!
DeleteI saw the moon last night! It was beautiful in my part of England!
ReplyDeleteIs that you Annie? So happy you got a peek at the moon. I'm going to look again tonight because it was cloudy last night. Friends in SW FL said it was fantastic!
DeleteLovely pages of your book! Very delicate and intrincate. Awesome photography of the Sierras. Very steady hand for the fireworks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula! I love it when we get to see the mountains. They're usually hiding in the clouds so it's always a treat. And the fireworks…I took a few more pictures but this was the only one where holding my breath worked!
DeleteHey Annie; Thanks for coming by my blog the other day. You've always been so sweet to me. I just love blue moons -- The song, Blue Moon of Kentucky keep on shinin' -- And I like your book, I like the lace/tatting page and I like the market and I don't know who Claire Bear is unless its the bird and I like that you are disjointed because it fits your name and it is who you are and you wouldn't be as artsy without it because it is a gift
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri! I love that you think my being disjointed is a gift. I accept that! Claire Bear is my newest granddaughter! Thank you so much and you're welcome!!!
DeleteYou always have the power to cheer me up! Lovely and intriguing birds :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Gio…that makes me happy. Because when you are cheered up…you make beautiful art. :)
DeleteThe birds are fabulous in my opinion. They're parrots and so green that they blend in with the trees. When they fly by in flocks…they chatter so loudly that you have to look and it's a treat when a few of them stop in the Mango tree. A lot of people consider them pests…but not me!
I love your journal pages, really amazing and I love your blog in general.Your work is so amazing and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDuaa
Thanks so much Duaa. I really appreciate your awesome compliment. :)
DeleteYou've opened my eyes to a very special way of creating....LOVE your journal :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kelly! What a beautiful thing to say!
DeleteThis is so beautiful! All of the color and textures are absolutely divine!
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much Amy!
DeletePretty skies with beautiful colors, also at night.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Leovi. Nothing beats Mother Nature...
