We're still waiting for our baby! Hillary convinced the doc to wait until Tuesday to induce labor...but she'll be here soon. (Big gulp of air, pitter patter heart beat and huge smile).
I worked on another door knob quilt in tandem with Living With Alligators and have named it Butterfly Party. (In honor of my friend, Robin, I've since changed the name to 'Posies').
Actually, this and my last door knob quilt began as the original idea for the baby quilt.
I thought I'd do strips of scenes and then sew them all together...but decided I didn't want that many layers. When I do these improvisational quilts...I sometimes add 3 or more layers on top of the sandwich and just couldn't picture that being comfy for our baby.
So, after nixing that idea, I cut the first sandwich strip in half and did these two door knob quilts.
I WILL work on Claire's quilt this week. I am now in possession of a nice quality cotton thread and have NO excuse not to begin.
I'll use the one I've made to practice making nice even stitches before I tackle the one my friend made for Claire. (She asked me to quilt it for her).
I've also been working on a book for my fabric book workshop and will complete that this week too! Can't wait to begin another one of those!
Anyhoo...I need to get busy in the play room.
Thank you SO much for all the supportive, lovely comments that you take your precious time to give me...
Create your life,

ReplyDeleteI have never made a fabric book. I may have to do that. Sounds like a lot of fun. I've only sewn paper. HA!
Thanks so much! Sewing fabric is just as easy as paper! Try it!
DeleteClaire arrived yesterday afternoon. She's perfect!
the name 'Butterfly Party' is so much better than 'Posies', so I vote you rename it back to its original name. Wait....there wasn't a vote, was there? ;-) Good luck in these exciting times!
ReplyDeleteThank you Caatje! I changed the name in honor of my friend…so I guess we'll have to have a subtitle! LOL!
