BEEN AWHILE

Now that I've got that fabric book out of my system...

I'm plugging along with some of my older pictures.

I took the plunge and quilted Claire Bear's quilt!

Actually did that before we went on vacation.

After all was said and done...

it was a lot of fun!

I tried out all kinds of free motion stitches...

and LOVE the way it turned out.

Now WHY was I so scared of doing this?!?

Beats me!

I usually plunge in with art and don't worry too much about the end result...

so I've learned that lesson all over again.

JUST DO IT!

Even though I'm not finished with it...

still...

I am about to be!!!

I actually began hand sewing the binding down yesterday at my Colombian Quilt Group meeting.

Woo Hoo!

So it won't be long now...

before Claire will have her annie! grandma quilt...

which she totally doesn't need...

because the temps NEVER go below 75 here...

even at night...

in the winter.

Saying that makes me miss those cool South Florida temps.

Create Your Life,

annie!

PS (Since I paint with thread - sort of - I'm linking to Paint Party Friday).(And...Sophia and I did paint on it - sort of - with fabric markers). I'm also linking to a new-to-me blog hop...W.i.P. Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.

  2. Oh!...I could SO live with 75 and above temps 24/7!!! I do not like being cold...which it seems like I always am.

Your quilting is so fabulous! What do you mean she doesn't need that quilt. What?...you never heard of a summer quilt?! She does so need it. Especially made by her annie! grandma. Hugs!

    1. I think I could live with it too if the humidity wasn't up there...but hey. It's where I live and fussing isn't gonna help! Well...actually...when it gets below 80 in the daytime...we do get a bit chilled. And babies more so probably. So yeah...she'll need it! LOL! Thank you Annie! xxoxxoo

    1. Thanks so much Gloria! This quilt had me frozen for weeks because I don't usually do "traditional". I'm a very messy quilter and I like it...so this was a challenge.

  5. I"m a huge fan of people who can do textile art - really. I so love fabrics but I have no inclination on what to do with them or how to sew, or how to put them together in a gorgeous quilt. Your work is lovely!!! Just beautiful. Happy PPF

    1. Thank you Marji! My mom had a sewing machine...and I used it...constantly. I don't make bed or 'useful' type quilts usually so this was a stretch for me.

    1. Thank you Sheila! The 'patches' in the middle of each block were printed on fabric from pictures I took of the baby invitations I made for Claire Bear's baby shower. Now how's THAT for a sentence. Anyway...that's one of my favorite blocks too! This quilt has made me want to quilt more!
