I FEEL SPECIAL...OH SO SPECIAL...

I am flat out amazed and totally excited! And oh, so thankful. I GOT MAIL! Again! Gift mail!!! That makes two times THIS week!!!

Shanti Eaglemeare, fiber artist and painter extraordinaire - whom I admire on FLICKR -gave me a compliment on my bookmarks so I sent one to her this summer. I received a note back from her telling me she had posted something to me in the mail.

I received...from Germany, these wonderful little pieces of her hand dyed fabric and I absolutely LOVE them. She also included a card that she made and a hand painted kitty.

They're all too special to go into a project anytime soon...but I CERTAINLY will enjoy looking at and handling them.

In over two years of living here in Barranquilla...we have received very little of the mail that's been sent to us...so I am that much more excited that this beautiful envelope of gorgeous pieces reached me!!!

Thank you SO much Shanti!!!

Love, peace and all things groovy...

  1. What a lovely gift to get AND through the post too...is it because you have moved and post is more likely to arrive at your new home, just wondered (:

  2. I think that must have something to do with it. Our old landlord called to say that some mail arrived at the old house…and when Jerry went to get it…it had been ripped open and one of the two credit cards was gone. We'd already received a call from the bank with questions about suspicious activity. Because we have a different mail carrier…and a porter on the door…we may get more mail. I sure hope so!

  3. Maybe your move into a different neighborhood has some good karma for mail! xox

    1. That and the fact that I don't say, "We don't get mail here" anymore. Well, most of the time I don't say it!

  4. What a lovely "good mail day" for you! Maybe your postal system only delivers small packages...anything smaller and they will open, process and use it for you. LOL (Not funny bout the credit cards tho!)

    1. LOL! It is funny because it's true! We've learned to wait for our mail until we get to our son's house in the States…then it feels like Christmas!
