As mentioned previously...
I made an art journal - pictured above and below.
After seeing Jennibellie's art on Flickr...
I found & started following her blog.
I always love what she's up to...
And when she made a tutorial for an art journal...
Using food boxes (in my case, cereal)...
I was more than slightly excited!
It took me a couple months to get around to making this project...
But I am over the moon happy that I did!!!
I just adore the finished product...
And can't quit marveling
that it's made out of a couple Corn Flakes boxes!!!
I realize I'm overloading you with pictures...
But I'm gonna do it anyway...
Because I'm just so delighted...
And thrilled...
With how it turned out!!!
Now that I've got that off my mind...I'm off to get some sleep!
Oh...I almost forgot...I'm linking to WOYWW!!! Go see!
and, I think there's enough pink in this journal to link up to How Sweet The Sound,s Pink Saturday...so I did!
Wow! What an explosion of color! I can see why you are so excited about this journal! It is fabulous. I am glad you included so many pictures, I enjoyed looking at each and everyone of them.
ReplyDeleteWOWWEE!!! I'm so happy you included so many pictures, have felt like the little bits I've been seeing were like the teasing trailers & finally I get the movie lol It's absolutely gorgeous Annie!! I loooooove it! It makes my heart sing (& my head go a little giddy) to see such beautiful creations made by helping saving the planets resources a little. Remake before recycle I say. I'm so happy I ever 'met' you & that I can inspire you a little as much as you do me, much love :) x
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you adore the journal it is fabulous, and so colourful, and re-cyled card as well, so much going for it.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and all the photos, thanks for sharing.
Hi, its me again. Thanks for visiting my blog. Sorrel is a girl dog and has been living with us almost 12 months now, and yes, she does go everywhere with us. All our holidays now are arranged so she can come too - think she (and me) would pine if we left her and went on our own.
DeleteWe've been thinking about and pining for a dog but really don't think one would fit in with our lifestyle. Anyway, yours is beautiful!
DeleteWow how cool. (and I love all the extra photos) It really is hard to believe that is a cereal box
ReplyDeleteNow that's a lot of work!...love the way you layer everything and it all looks so right.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow and wow again! That is absolutely fantastic! And isn't Jenniebellie the greatest? ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow amazing is that journal?? You clever thing, you! It's an absolute riot of colour and joy!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ #26 xx
I know Ingrid! The colors make me go BOING!!! Maybe that's why I'm so excited about it! :) Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteyour journal is so full of joy. it comes through beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenniebellie! You're a total inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Ann B!
ReplyDeleteI know! And I neglected to say in my blog post – which I began at 3:30am – that it’s meant to be written in…so it’s USEful too! thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann H!!! I'm always hesitant to add the next layer but then so glad I did!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you and thank you again!!! :) Yes...Jennibellie is fabulosity!
ReplyDeleteThank you LL Jan!!! It certainly brought (is bringing) me joy!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Neki! I'll say it again...it was pure joy to make and now to look at! I can't bear to write in or part with it at this point! So for now, it's eye candy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad there were lots of pics... I really enjoyed sharing it and it has inspired me no end.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
joZArty x
Looks great and what a great idea! Maybe I should do this with my art students...hmmm...
ReplyDeleteLovely, and so pleased you had so much fun making it, and even better how in love with it you are, rightly so, well done, happy WOYWW
ReplyDeleteOuch! I just wrote a whole message to you for my internet to crash :( I was saying that I have taken to heart that some people (you included dear) are 'missing' me online a bit and so have resolved to blog about the things I am in the middle of making, as well as the final projects. So tomorrow I'm going to post about my journal projects currently in progress and was asking if you would mind me showing my readers your beautiful journal & link back to this post? I would so love for them to see what another artist can achieve with cereal boxes xx
ReplyDeleteFantastic Annie, I love the 3-d and all the pull-outs, pockets and stick out parts and the sheer exuberance of color, color, color. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteThank you JoZart! It's inspired me too!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. Thanks! I'm going to show it to my 2nd Saturday group to see if they want to make one. I'm sure it's a great project for your students too!
ReplyDeleteThank Loopy! I know. I can't help myself. I do love it. Is that really conceited or what?!? (Sophia would say...what?). :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jenniebellie! I HAVE been missing you online...to the point of wondering about you at odd times of the day...even before but especially since I was using your tutorial. I would be honored and thrilled if you show your readers my journal. :) Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Corrine! It was hard…but I managed to leave a little space in there so whoever ends up with this journal can actually use it to write in!!! And…YOU definitely would know about exuberant color!
ReplyDeleteWhat a totally cool project. I love that you upcycled cereal boxes. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much waggonswest!!! Now my hubby is concerned that I'll need an extra room for all the cardboard I'm collecting!
ReplyDeleteNever too many pictures! It’s eye candy! I can see why you’re so pleased! It is phenomenal! Don’t be surprised when I come steal it! (They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I disagree, pilfering is! LOL)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had even more fun with this one. Gloriously colourful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Robin! If you come to pilfer it - all the way here to Colombia...I'll GIVE it to you!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! xxooxx
ReplyDeleteIf i had made this, there would have been twice the number of photos. It's quite , quite gorgeous and that Jeniebellie is a clever gal indeed. How long did it take...it's the sort of thing I never get round to..love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Julia! I do have three times the pix...but restrained myself! :) I worked on this while other projects were going on...you know...I let it dry while sewing, etc. but it was a total of small bits of 7-8 days.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and sorry if I made you cry!
This is fantastic! I've always been quite enthralled with the world of art journaling but when I tried my hand at it, found that I didn't do so well. Wonder how I would do with a template like this? Thanks for sharing!
