I've been helping Marcia Beckett with an awesome website - Artists In Blogland - as a co-moderator.
If you haven't already...please come on over and see what we're all about.
We're a group of artists...of mixed media and more...who interact beautifully.
We have a monthly challenge which includes voting and a prize.
For January it's the SOUL Challenge.
This is my entry...which is part of the altered book I've been playing in, Evolution 2k12, which is an ongoing diary of sorts and has been...for me...a lovely experience.
Hope you'll join us!

ReplyDeletenow without typos.
ReplyDeletelove the repetition of the flowery image within the bigger paisley one
Thanks Neki! The paisley is half of a butterfly wings stencil. Fun!
DeleteVery beautiful! Love the colors in the first one especially!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The first one is closer to the real colors! Most of the other pictures were taken in extreme sunlight.
DeleteI am trying to decide if the face is giving the voice wings or if the wings are giving the face voice. Thought provoking art Annie. Very Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know the answer to that...but thank you for your comment.
DeleteBut that is my point, Annie. You don't have to have an answer or you don't have to tell if you do. Art provokes questions, thoughts and/or feelings in the viewer. That is what this piece really does.
DeleteWow...that is a beautiful thing to say. I often can't put in to words the feeling that others art gives me when I'm viewing it...and feel really blessed that you feel this way. Thanks so much. A lot.
DeleteIt is so good when bloggers can get together on these challenges, I think it helps bring out the best in us. Love all the entries.
ReplyDeleteMe too Ann! I love entering challenges...when I make the time for them...and with you ...seeing the awesome work that comes.
DeleteThis is just so beautiful, I can hear the soul song. xox Corrine

DeleteAnnie - I love this journal - I am part of artists in blogland but I never seem to know what the theme is each month - guess I need to check right - do we know what it is for Feb yet
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy! Thanks! I'm tickled that you're part of AIB. We've just begun the challenge theme and Feb won't be revealed until the 1st! Sorry! :)
DeleteBeautiful, annie!
ReplyDeleteThank you Robin! <3
DeleteYou just keep making the most beautiful things! I'll check out the blog/site, but can't promise I'll join. I hardly have time to keep up with my own stuff. Great initiative though.
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Caatje! I hope you can at least join and link up with us every other Saturday.
DeleteWOW, I love all the colors and patterns you've used and the way the woman is almost hidden until you take a closer look- fabUlous work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie! I'm not so good at drawing faces...so I kinda wanted to hide her!

DeleteYour doodle-type art is phenomenal, Annie! It's so complex and the white dots just make everything pop!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Nancy. I am honored that you think so but I really have to say...I certainly don't FEEL like my art is complex. But if you say so...it's certainly OK with me!!! :)I like that!
DeleteThis is an amazing piece!!!

DeleteIts a lovely piece! So creative and colorful and full of meaning!
ReplyDeleteThank you Apni! Triple thanks!
