THE STOCKINGS WERE HUNG...

I began my 'stocking project'

with the idea

of making ONE stocking

for my Claire Bear.

Sophia received hers for her first Christmas...

so of course I wanted to make one for the baby too.

I don't crazy quilt all that often

and figured I'd practice a bit...

but got a little carried away.

(I'm really in love with my machine lately).

I pulled out SO many fabrics

that I thought would work

and just started crazy quilting them down on a base

until my back was screaming,

"ENOUGH".

Then,

I began with the embellishments

and boy do I have lots of those!

My goal

is to use up as much of my stash as possible

before we move...

because I'm here to tell you

that most of it will come back to the States with me

if it isn't used up first!

I enjoyed sitting in the same room with hubby

while he watched TV...

and I tried to ignore it,

while hand stitching.

That's another thing I haven't done a lot of lately,

but the more I did,

the more I remembered Christmases past

where I'd make ornaments and gifts and...

it was a very beautiful week for me.

I didn't know when I began,

that I would be making the 'extras'

for my Colombian quilt group.

My first thought

was to embellish both sides,

but I have a stack of felt that needed to be whittled down a bit

and I figured,

if I put a plain felt back on all but Claire's...

I'd have enough for 3 of the ladies in my group and one for my son-in-law's mom!

One of the girls is Jewish...so I gave her a door knob quilt...which she was delighted with!

May each of you have a very Merry, happy, blessed Christmas.

Create Your Life,

annie!
