PEACE...


I want to take a minute to wish each of you peace in the new year.

I'm finding it in being a home body this past month...sewing...playing in my art journal and spending time with those I love...and imagining our son home again.


He's in Afghanistan and I'd love your prayers for him. His last two deployments were - in my mind - not as dangerous - and it seems to be more difficult for him to find peace this time around. But he is doing well. I'll continue to believe that he will thrive.


I hope you'll keep all of those who find themselves in less than peaceful situations...in your thoughts and prayers.

Today, I read something to the effect that's the opposite of 'the straw that broke the camel's back'. It was...what if...your next thought, FINALLY, brought you to the place of ____________ that you've been yearning for. You fill in the blank with whatever it is you want.

      Thanks for your prayers Annie. It means a lot - to know that people I've never met are 'with me'. It makes me feel stronger. When I saw the Christmas card, I thought the background that I had prepped months ago was perfect for it...and while I don't often draw...this one was really fun to do! I love Cardinals and the scene is very peaceful to me.

    I'm new to your blog and am seeing a kindred spirit here:-) thoughts and prayers go to your son and I admire him so much for his service. although I don't believe war is the answer I have to admire those who are brave enough to make our country the power that it is. And I don't even know if it would fit you but for some reason it just tickled me to say it). :) Anyway, I really do appreciate your beautiful compliment and more than anything your prayers for my son.       Thank you so much Yvonne! I loved the Christmas card scene and just had to try to duplicate it! Tickles me because I had teachers that told me I couldn't draw and until a few years ago...I believed them!!! Still getting over it though.
