Going around in circles that is.
I had a busy week outside the play room so only got about 80 more of them thar circles done...but I also have lots of fabric almost ready.
My hubby is working on an alligator that he's made out of a taxi door . It's about 4 feet long.
I have to say again...he's the real artist in the family.
The car door was purchased from a cart similar to the one pictured here...
which passed in front of my house today just as I was getting my camera to load photos.
Below is a picture of the Alto del Prado area in Barranquilla...taken while walking to the grocery store on the way from the dentist's office a couple days ago...
After eating a late lunch and grocery shopping I took this video from the taxi on the way home
The arroyos here in the city are amazing...and extremely dangerous and scary. The one pictured in the video above carried a man and his motorcycle into the shark infested waters of Rio Magdalena. We've also heard of taxis being carried to the river and a 40+ car pileup caused by one.
I can't leave on that negative note so thought I'd show you what you can get in the way of an artificial Christmas tree for around $350. And they sell like hot cakes.
And last, but certainly not least...my Sophia at dance class last week. I need to go NOW and get those circles finished so I can make her Princessa costume for Halloween.
I know it looks like the door knob is growing off of her headband...but photoshop and I are not good friends...yet. |
And while you're at it...
Create Your Life,
annie!
Now I call that RAIN! and I thought we got storms here! Sophia looks the perfect dance student...pointing with her hand too, very good. (Not that I'm a dance expert, I never had the hips for it)....and what is this about $350 for a christmas tree, yikes, I think if I'm converting this okay that is a LOT of money....ybf ann.
ReplyDeleteFantastic circles, outright spectaculsr alligator, love the donkey cart with th.e car doors.....And your precious ballerina, so sweet. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteSome great works going on here I love all the material, I am a material junky.
ReplyDeleteFor sure Ann! When I moved to Florida I was amazed with the storms but Barranquilla makes them seem like a walk in the park. Sophia has just begun ballet and LOVES it. She danced around here for the last couple days and is SO happy with her class. :) Yes...that's $350 US. You should have seen me trying to find a deal on a tree last year...but I finally did! It was a week before Christmas, but I didn't have to pay so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you and thank you Corrine!
ReplyDeleteThanks Manon! I think I must say...I am too!
ReplyDeleteYour scrap quilt is such a fun project! So bright and colorful! Your husband's alligator is super a.w.e.s.o.m.e! How nice that all of you in the family are creative! Patsy from

Those circles are just amazing.... I keep envisaging different things you could do with them. This week I have decided I would like to walk through a room filled with them suspended from the ceiling... it wold be like swimming through a sea of tyour wonderful circles and textures... it would be amazing
ReplyDeletetrace xx
Thank you Patsy! I tried for 20 years to get hubby to make things out of metal...and I'm SO happy that he finally is. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea Tracey! Thanks. I lived with 5 other people WAY back when and we painted cardboard egg cartons black...sprayed with glitter and put a little piece of broken mirror on each tip and glued them to the ceiling. It was Verry cool and when you said that about the circles hanging from the ceiling...that's what came to mind. :) Thanks for the blast from the past!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving these circles you are doing! So unique! Found you on Artists in Blogland. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Becca!
ReplyDeleteWow! 80 more circles. You’re getting there. Way to go! And Hubby’s alligator is amazing. You should make a sibling for it in fiber. LOL Sophia is adorable in her pink tutu! $350 for a Christmas tree? That’s enough to make a person convert! Holy cow!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun share...love the rounds that you're working on and the ally is awesome...oh, and the little dancer...precious! POP ART MINIS
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin! A little screw just fell off of my foot holder-onner-apparatus-thingy and I can't see good enough to see how to fix it...so I hope to get those buggers done TOMORROW! Tommorrow, tomorrow, I love ya....tomorrow...you're only a day away. Yes, I'm a bit punch drunk from going around in circles. And YES...Aren't Jerry's alligators the absolute best. This is the fourth big one he's made and tons of little ones. They're scattered throughout my blog but I'm going to post pix of all of them as soon as he finished this one. :) And yes to Sophia! :) And to conversion. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Joni! I can't wait to finish the circles and read my hubby all the compliments on his alligator. Gotta keep that retired man BUSY! And my little dancer...the reason why I moved to South America!
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, have a great, "circled" sunny Sunday!
ReplyDelete..forget...the alligator is so impressive!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gio! LOL - I will...and I wish you a great altered calendar, shoe, tin box and everything good Sunday!!! And thanks from my hubby!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great project! Sophia looks adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteWow I am so impressed with your hubby's alligator, where did you find your creative man?? Jea-lous, I cannot find one who even knows what a pencils for hehe I'm so bad, also very eager - I can't wait to see your finished result, much love Jenny xx
ReplyDeleteThank you and THANK you. :)
ReplyDeleteHAHA!! Thanks Jennibellie! I found him 34 years ago at a bar in Yorktown, Virginia. I was the bartender and he (our friends used to say jokingly) was the county drunk. NOT! He didn't know he was an artist until a couple years ago...and still doesn't use a pencil.
ReplyDeletewow, so much to see, and I checked out the post below and I just don't have enough time to admire everything as I'd like, thanks for sharing more of the process of the circles and such a cool alligator! wow, again!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fallingladies! And thanks from hubby!
