We moved our living room furniture around a couple months ago after a minor flood downstairs from a downpour...
and my hubby said, "I won't be able to see the TV if we put it there."
Well, weeks later, I've finally admitted that he's right.
We have a 12 foot concrete wall around our patio out back, which we painted a celery green color and the sun just bounces off of it and right through the living room window.
So, while the back of the television faces the window...the glare in your eyes is...blinding.
But only if you're watching TV in the daytime...which I rarely do.
But Hubby does...and I have to say..."Sometimes he's right".
Anywho, I'm making curtains. I had a traverse rod hanging around waiting to be used and got Jerry to attach it to the wall last
I didn't want just any ole thing hanging there...so...these circles are IT!
I had also come to the point in my play room where I had SO many scraps that I kept telling myself, "I really need to use these up for something"...and again...these circles are it!
They're just under 5 inches in diameter.
It's a fun, rewarding way to use up what most people throw in the trash...and practice free motion stitching.
So...stay tuned to see how far I get with this. I've made around 60 so far...to the tune of 10-12 hours...and just have 140 to go!!!
Yipeeee!
BTW...

I think they are awesome Annie. Can't believe how dedicated you must be to this project considering the time you have already spent on it and on how many you still have to go!..but can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing idea, I am loving these!!! Bravo! xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann! It'll be a one of a kind curtain. And hopefully...I'll want to hang it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Corrine. xxooxx right back atcha!
ReplyDeleteI totally love these, they're so colorful and interesting and whimsical!!!! perfect, can't wait to see the end result!
ReplyDeleteThank you Fallingladies! I can't wait to see the end result either!
ReplyDeleteThese are just beautiful. I can see a grouping of them in a frame and they would be stunning. I really would love to be able to touch them and look at them closely, they are so inviting.xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey! I'm seeing ALL kinds of things done with them!!! The frame idea is a good one!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the finished curtain either! I also see a coordinated wall hanging to go with it. A multitude of circles overlapping one another in free form. That is if you still have the patience after the curtain! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing idea to have those circles, kind of reminds me of the beads hanging in doorways from the hippie days, only much much better. I love all the colors.
ReplyDeleteThese are so interestingly beautiful! Love them!
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, read your comments on the AB group. You and I have much in common. I"ve lived outside the U.S. for 17 years so my connection is much thru the internet. So thankful for it. Love your circles. Just wanted to say hi to another fellow transplant. Going to go visit this group you recommended now, Artists in Blogland. I'm following you and hope you'll come visit my blog and follow too.

I looooooooove! Each is so unique and delightful. I keep wanting to practice free motion (and need! - truly terrible on the machine still still) but just always have a million and one other things to be getting along with. I can't wait to see them finished, they'll look lovely all together :)
ReplyDelete:) Thank you Robin! I really think I'll have to "make" more scraps before I get my quota of circles done for this project...so any other scrappy stuff is on the BACK burner. Whew!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! Thanks Linda! I am an old hippie...so it totally fits!
ReplyDeleteThank you Betty!!!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks Jennibellie! I'm really very sloppy with my stitches...but somehow...I like the result! I know what you mean because I keep saving food boxes to make some of your totally fabulous art journals...and just haven't done it yet. But - it's HIGH on the list.
ReplyDeleteOh my!! Every circle is a little masterpiece...And you 're making a curtain!! Such a great idea! Brava!
ReplyDeleteHi Gio! Thanks so much! Yep...a curtain they will be...but I haven't done a THING with them since this post...so I'd better get on it.

Can you believe that?!? So annie! grandma and grumpus followed the baby and we're lovin it. Yes! Salsa, Merenque, Cumbia and a few more that my granddaughter could tell you about (that I don't know how to spell ---mapbailet)?!? I just barely speak Spanish after all this time porque muy Barranquilleros hablo Ingles y yo no neccisito apprendendo. Gente es muy amoblay!!! (Please forgive all my spelling/grammar mistakes) :) A swap sounds wonderful but we'd have to do it in November because the mail system in this third world country is VERY expensive and then barely works. I'll be leaving for the States for Thanksgiving. :)
