INTENSE RED COPPER

Hi Ya'all!

We love it so much here!!!

I'm slowly finding a place for everything -

and putting everything in it's place.

I dyed my hair today.

All by my little lonesome self.

Jerry is off at a buddy's to work on his truck

and I am now redder-headed than I was early this morning.

Did you know, I have 2 red-headed grand children?

Yep, I do!

And a brunette.

Anyway,

I used the remainder of the dye

(which I always wished I could have done whenever I got my hair colored in Colombia)

and I dyed fabric.

The pictures show the process,

without any explanation.

Feel free to ask questions.

I may even be able to answer them.

I'll show you the finished fabric soon!

Oh yeah...

The fabric I dyed

was the temp muslin I used on the windows.

Loving life...

annie!

    1. Thanks Robin! I love those windows too!!! I'm slowly sorting through my stuff and as I come across a piece of fabric that's big enough, I'm draping it...again temporarily...across the rod and taking the muslin off.

    1. Thanks Annie! It is SO good to be back in the USA. The openness of the house was one of the first things I saw (obviously) and loved. I'm frugal...so it seemed such a waste to throw that left over dye away!

    1. The house really is spacious! It only has 2 small bedrooms and 1 bathroom...so the living area is great. I've missed you too!

  9. Hi annie! What a wonderfully light and airy apace you have. Delightful! And oh man! I wish I'd have thought about using up the remaining hair dye when I did mine purple last week! But I will remember for next time, haha. Thanks for the idea annie! Sending best of happiness and good wishes in your new abode :0) MO x

    1. Thanks Mo! LOL!...I'd love to see that purple hair! And YES! If you have any left over, try it up. I mean...they have to protect hands and clothing when they put the stuff on...so I figured it must stain fabric pretty good. :)

  11. You can transform a mundane act of dying your hair into an art form. Astonishing.

    1. Thank YOU!!! It's SO good to be back in the USA!!!

Might not have been such a clever idea after all. Most of the dye washed out...but I'll still take pictures and post them. :) I'm saving pieces for a doll. You inspire me SO much.

  14. Woke up hoping you would have photos of the new house and sure enough you have obliged. I love the kitchen and those curtains you have invented. Your package is going out today with a couple of starters.
I had no idea you could dye with hair dye. Interesting. I saw another great idea with black beans wrapped for a polka dot effect. Love natural dyes. Also red cabbage for muted purples.
    Hugs and kisses.
