Baby Shower invites spread out on my table in my old play room. I kinda miss that big room just a teeny bit. But not really. I'm glad I had it for the time I had it. |
I didn't stop to think for more than a minute - if that long - about what was going onto the collage...so lots of them surprised me. |
James Dobson, whom I used to listen to, compared bringing a sibling home...to your hubby doing the same with another wife.
My goal is to make sure Sophia knows she is still ultra extra special because oh my goodness...she is.
Part of the reason for our move to the new apartment was so that we would be closer to the kids since we take care of them while Mommy and Daddy work. They live on the 2nd floor of the same building we moved to.
Just before we decided to move, Hillary asked me to make the invitations for Claire's baby shower. I loved the idea and got right on it. Usually I procrastinate about these things but the energy...or whatever...was all lined up and I got them done in less than 2 weeks.
I made 78 invites all together and with the exception of 6 or 7 of them passed them all out with the help of Shirley and Milena (who I'm helping organize the shower with) whom we knew when we lived in Tampa.
Their hubbies were at University with my son-in-law, Pedro, and we all moved back...or in our case...to Colombia when they all graduated. (All PhD's) (uh huh).
We printed...on beautiful pink card stock...the details for the Baby Shower and glued them to the back of the fabric collages. I would have sewn them on...but my machine was still in hiding at the time.
We also glued a little magnet to them in hopes that the recipients would hang them on the fridge or file cabinet at work...and not toss them.
This is one we didn't pass out because my daughter liked it for herself. It goes with some of the other 'mountain' quilts I've made. |
But wherever they end up...it's fine with me because I had total fun and peace and love fill me up in the making of them.
I mean it. I loved putting them together and of course...being me...wanted to show them to you!
More next time!!!
Lots more. :)
This is my favorite...and the one that I kept...because if you look closely...you can see where Sophia took her marker and helped me with it. |
Love, peace and all things groovy to you and yours...
Hillary thought this one looked a little too Christmasy...so it'll go in one of my future fabric books...or something like that. |
