Woooooh Round and Round I Go....

I'm still at it!

Going around in circles that is.

I had a busy week outside the play room so only got about  80 more of them thar circles done...but I also have lots of fabric almost ready. 

My hubby is working on an alligator that he's made out of a taxi door . It's about 4 feet long.

I have to say again...he's the real artist in the family.

The car door was purchased from a cart similar to the one pictured here...

which passed in front of my house today just as I was getting my camera to load photos.

Below is a picture of the Alto del Prado area in Barranquilla...taken while walking to the grocery store on the way from the dentist's office a couple days ago...

After eating a late lunch and grocery shopping I took this video from the taxi on the way home

The arroyos here in the city are amazing...and extremely dangerous and scary. The one pictured in the video above carried a man and his motorcycle into the shark infested waters of Rio Magdalena. We've also heard of taxis being carried to the river  and a 40+ car pileup caused by one.


I can't leave on that negative note so thought I'd show you what you can get in the way of an artificial Christmas tree for around $350. And they sell like hot cakes.

And last, but certainly not least...my Sophia at dance class last week. I need to go NOW and get those circles finished so I can make her Princessa costume for Halloween.

I know it looks like the door knob is growing off of her headband...but photoshop and I are not good friends...yet.

A Few of My Favorite Things...

Seth Apter of The Altered Page has once again honored 'yours truly' by including me among many awesome artists in Technique and Tool: Chapter 3 of The Pulse. Seth is an imaginative, prolific mixed media artist who not only cranks out wonderful works of art...but is also writing a monthly article: Your Blog Your Way . He never fails to thoughtfully answer a comment and just generally goes out of his way to promote art and artists. Oh yeah...he's also been published lately in several places and has a successful Etsy Shop. Please, take a look-see at his website (links above). Honestly, I don't know how he has time to make art but he does...including collaborative pieces with other exciting artists. 

Anywho...Seth and his work are some of my favorite things...and since his blog is putting the spotlight on me today, I thought, I'd show pictures (above and below) that are glimpses of some of my favorites things that I've made...

You Got Me Goin In Circles!

Circles, Circles, Circles!!!

We moved our living room furniture around a couple months ago after a minor flood downstairs from a downpour...

and my hubby said, "I won't be able to see the TV if we put it there."

Well, weeks later, I've finally admitted that he's right. 

We have a 12 foot concrete wall around our patio out back, which we painted a celery green color and the sun just bounces off of it and right through the living room window. 

 So, while the back of the television faces the window...the glare in your eyes is...blinding. 

But only if you're watching TV in the daytime...which I rarely do. 

But Hubby does...and I have to say..."Sometimes he's right".

Anywho, I'm making curtains. I had a traverse rod hanging around waiting to be used and got Jerry to attach it to the wall last week month.  (YIKES!!! It's OCTOBER)!!!

I didn't want just any ole thing hanging there...so...these circles are IT!

I had also come to the point in my play room where I had SO many scraps that I kept telling myself, "I really need to use these up for something"...and again...these circles are it!

They're just under 5 inches in diameter. 

It's a fun, rewarding way to use up what most people throw in the trash...and practice free motion stitching.

So...stay tuned to see how far I get with this. I've made around 60 so far...to the tune of 10-12 hours...and just have 140 to go!!!

 Yipeeee!
