Slowly, but surely
I'm getting these pictures of the progress of my fabric book
into the blogosphere.
We leave for the States on Wednesday...
where I'll teach a fabric book workshop in Florida
after we visit our son in Texas.
Since I am now the happy owner of a MacBook Pro laptop
I'll do my best to stay current with my blog
and yours.
Wishing you a wonderful trip and I envy the people attending your Fabric Book Workshop, lucky them. ybf ann.
ReplyDeleteThanks so very much Ann. We're gonna get you in that time capsule yet.
Deletegreat photos you've posted here Annie.Hope you've a great trip.
ReplyDeleteMay I ask you one thing/ why such a title for this post- Uncle Boo's Garden?
Susan
Thanks Ariel! I will have a great trip. :) Years ago, I made a quilt entitled Uncle Boo's Garden - and when I tried to print out the label, I got several rejects. One of those rejects ended up on this page because the butterflies and flowers reminded me of a garden. ") Thanks for being so observant…and asking! :)
DeleteHappy life creating! Your travels and the beach sound wonderful...and so is that gorgeous fabric book!!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much Kathy!
DeleteI love it!! Have a wonderful trip <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Chel! :) I'll answer your email once I'm settled in Florida.
DeleteWell, annie, Ariel asked the question that I have been wondering too. Love your answer too. My fave thing is those sequin flowers. Just yesterday before seeing your flickr I was looking around for some wayward sequins for an eye for a flamingo. I already knew where the beads were. No sequins. Must get a supply! Happy trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie. :) I didn't mention that the original quilt was named Uncle Boo's Garden after my favorite Uncle…who passed away shortly after I began the quilt. I ended up thinking about him so much during the making of it…that it just had to be for him. You wouldn't believe the collection of sequins I own. Ridiculous. Most, if not all of them, were purchased at yard sales for pennies. And PS - I have used snaps as flowers before…and earring backs and of course, buttons. Whatever I have…if I can attach it...is put to use.
DeletePS - can't wait to see your flamingo! I'm crazy about them!
DeleteSafe Travels, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Char! I'm excited!
DeleteI’d love to go for a stroll through Uncle Bob’s garden! Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteWell, anytime my friend…any time.
DeleteAnd Thank You.
DeleteI wish I could take that workshop with you. Your fabric book is gorgeous (I know I keep saying that, but it keeps being true, so what can you do?) ;-) Have a good time in the States!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Caatje. I wish you could too! I don't mind you saying that at all!!! :) We leave tomorrow. Excited!!!
DeleteHave a great trip, annie! and enjoy it. Like the others I would love to be at your workshop, playing with fabrics. Your book pages look lovely, I especially like the double spread with the combinations of colours and patterns.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sheila! We will and we WILL! I wish you could be there too. That'd be awesome. The hardest part for me…and it really isn't hard…is deciding which pages will fit together best once I'm finished…because rarely do I plan any continuity. Thanks for your compliment!
Deletewicked! the beach at this time of the year. enjoy
ReplyDeleteIsn't life wonderful? :) The picture of the beach in this post is of Playa Mendoza…which we found recently…and LOVE. It's the only clean beach with clear water that we've seen near Barranquilla. We can go year round because it NEVER dips below 75degrees…even in the middle of the night. We're heading to St Pete Beach…which is also a year round beach…and one of the most beautiful areas on this planet.
Deleteit's gorgeous, annie!! I wish i lived closer to florida so i could take your fabric class. buen viaje!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Aimee! Plan a trip to the beach and we'll do it again next year!
DeleteEnjoy. Lucky ladies to be in your workshop, they will do marvelous things and laugh and laugh.....xox
