Isn't it a wonderful feeling when you get to do anything you want?!?
I LOVE my life and the fact that...today...
and many other days,
Anything I want.
It's been a busy month for everyone and I can't wait to get to all of your websites to see what you've been up to.
For those of you that aren't familiar with it...today is Wednesday, so I'm linking up with What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. (WOYWW)
I always love the inspiration I get there!
I've been working on finishing up some projects that I'd hoped to do before Christmas...
The finished piece which I then cut down to size for the journal cover made below. |
Journal Cover - front (just need to work on the edges) |
Journal Cover - back |
Journal Cover - open (Yep - I definitely need to work on those edges). |
While I was in the piecing mood...I put this together last night. It'll soon be a bohemiannie! bag. :) |
These are Sophia's (my 4 year old granddaughter) UFOs - which I'll help her finish up this week. |
which is a new acronym that I've learned this year due to blogging.
I found this stencil in one of the drawers (above) and of course...had to use it in my art journal. (That's more of my paper supply behind the table). |
You can see - on this UFO - where I used the stencil. |
I DON'T know how you girls do it!!! I struggle with paper projects - but I'm determined. |
to make room for the new.
Which I'm gonna go work on RIGHT NOW!
Dare I show you the detail shot?!? |
And speaking of shots...that gun ONLY shoots love. Love shot baby! To YOU! |
annie!
This was taken at 6:30pm-ish...(that's a Christmas miracle from this late-nighter) and carrying her up to bed was pure heaven in more ways than one! :) |
Lol, I agree, I loose hours going round blogs, then wonder why I get nothing done! And she looks so peaceful- when you are tired you can sleep standing up in a corner, I think. Hope you had a great Christmas, and Happy New year! Love, Shaz xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Shazsilverwolf! :)I love the inspiration I receive from all those wonderful blogs though! :) My Christmas was and still is beautiful! I wish the same and more for you!
ReplyDeleteLots of great journals, both paper and fabric :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great WOYWW and a very Happy New Year, I hope 2012 is a good one for you all :)
Luv Karen #41
Thanks Karen! Happy New Year to you and yours!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your blog, so different, had to keep going back to the top and starting again. My StepD is a quilter so I know how much work goes into each piece - yours are stunning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by to mine and for commenting - much appreciated as a, relatively, new blogger (this year). The 'paper's on my blog photo this week are in fact swatches of fabric - heavy silk crepe. Think they are offcuts from kimono makers.
Ann B

Thanks Ann B!!! I have been called different all my life...so I'll take that as a compliment! (Insert big smile). I'm so glad you dropped by because now I want to go back and look closer at those fabrics. Yum, Yum! Kimono fabric is just so wonderful. And I meant to google that little thingy that you squeeze open to see if I could find a pattern. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love snooping at other blogs and seeing what others do with their art, they amaze me!...as does your fabric art (being useless at sewing personally) and your journal cover is an example of that fact, it's gorgeous Annie.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann! I'm finally getting back to visiting blogs and will see yours SOON!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! Happy WOYWW and all the best for 2012! Tango, #37
ReplyDeleteThanks TangolikeRaindrop! I'm getting close to #37!!!
ReplyDeleteFab blog! Full of life and vim! Elseways, great word, I'm gonna have to get that into my blog at some point, lol!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilting, I'm envious, just don't have the patience. Gorgeous Grand-daughter, I find I'm doing the same on the sofa these days - power naps are supposed to be good for you :)
Wishing you a truly splendid 2012 - may it be exciting!
Hugs, LLJ #35 xx
thank you jan! just think otherwise...and then it'll be easier to slip it in! and thanks again! she fell asleep just before 6:30 and didn't wake up until almost 13 hours later!
ReplyDeleteFabulous quilting! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, just Beautiful, Happy 2012, Hugs May x x x

So much fun, so much fun, I want to come play with you. I love your freedom of stitch! Gonna set up my sewing machine next week and sew wild.....thanks for the happy inspiration. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteLOVE your blog, love the crazy way you write, under captions, between pictures, you had me going back and forth and definetly now bored! Learned 2 new things WIP and UFO's! lol Happy New Year from North Carolina!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Maggie!!! I really do love this time of the year when I begin with the UFOs. It’s almost a no-brainer because so many of them are so far along…and that’s a good thing because this brain wants a bit of a rest!!! Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Spyder! I don't know where your comment went...but I got the email! Thank you! Thank you!!! I agree. That last creation is priceless! Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy!!!
ReplyDeleteCome ON Corrine!!! I'd LOVE to have you come!!! I can't wait to see what you do with your machine. :) Thanks so much! Thank you! Thank you!!! I agree. Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandee! I can't help it but I did put a disclaimer at the top of the post!!! Glad you stopped by and enjoyed reading...even if it did make you a little ditzy...I mean...dizzy. Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy!!!
ReplyDeleteHi there. Thanks for visiting my blog!! I've been working on my wreath today (almost finished) and then I took in a movie. Your journal cover is great - I love the stitching and noticed the peace sign - wouldn't that be a great resolution. Treat people with love and an open heart. I have to ask -- when does a WIP become a UFO? Just wondering.....
ReplyDeleteFabulous post. Great work. All the best for 2012
ReplyDeleteThanks 505whimsygirl! I'm looking forward to seeing your wreath. It sounded interesting! I guess WIPs and UFOs ARE two different things!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much famfa! Merry! Merry! Happy! Happy!
ReplyDeleteyou have some gorgeous stitching going on! Glad you decided to snap out of it! Enjoyed my browse of your posts today. Tell me...where did you put 78 guests into your house lol! Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Happy 2012 to you!
ReplyDeleteOooh what a lovely post - lots going on there! I too would consider myself a fabric artist first and foremost but you wouldnt know when looking at all my stamps, inks and papers! Hope you enjoyed having all that time to do whatever you wanted! Thanks for all your lovely comments over the year and I hope you have a lovely New Year.
ReplyDeleteforgot to say thank you for sending my Nan a hug - she needs all she can get at the moment so I really appreciate it. Hopefully will get to visit her today (not seen for two weeks!).
ReplyDeletethat meant to say "not seen her for two weeks!" - gosh I am waffling arent I!
ReplyDelete:-)
ReplyDeleteI wish a very happy and full of art and un-finished projects - 2012!
Beautiful quilting projects! Loved all the photo's. Merry week after Christmas to you too!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteI don’t often work with fabric myself other than for my cross stitching projects but I can see the fascination. With all those beautiful colours and patterns it’s no wonder that your imagination runs riot and you end up with so many project on the go at one time.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your Works in progress!
Happy New Year to you and
Happy Crafting!

I love the journal cover, especially those edges, they say so much about your enthusiasm for the piece and the thrill of getting it done! Bless, bless your baby GD...I do wish I could just lie down and sleep wherever I was when I felt the need...way too old to sleep on the floor theses days!!
ReplyDeleteannie, lovely projects as always. I love the joy you manage to project in your work. And the little one... precious. Happy New Year.

ReplyDeleteThose people were allllll over the place and thankfully I have a large lanai and front tiled area!!! I invited everyone to ‘open house’ but here in Colombia…I don’t think they’re familiar with the concept! Now I know! :)
Thanks Julie! Happy, Happy to you too!

ReplyDeleteThanks a ton Glenda! Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacqui!!! Same to you!!!
ReplyDeleteFabric is my passion but I do love paper too! And all that goes with it! I work all the way through a project more often than leaving it for another day...but sometimes I just have to wait to see what it tells me to do next. Have a great New Year!
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot going on...but it's the culmination of the whole week. Hope that's ok w the woyww rules! Happy, happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYour works is fabulous! I am a rubbish stitcher so am in awe! Have a fab New Year and thank you for visiting my desk xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Julia. The book cover edges have since been fixed and look much better. :) And thanks for the blessings for Sophia. She's being a wascly wabbit this morning...so I've left her with Grumpy and taking a break at the computer. :) I can barely pick myself up off the floor when I get down on it...so not sure if I could sleep there or not...and DON"T want to find out!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks waggonswest! I do totally find joy in art...and Sophia...and life!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin!
ReplyDeleteNow that Sophia is four…I keep looking at her in amazement because my little girl is not a baby anymore. So grown up. So opinionated. So wonderful! Mini-me. :) (Just the wonderful parts).
The singing carrot came from a “Taste the Best of Tampa Bay” pamphlet (that I participated in) and now that I’ve put it online, I wish I’d looked for the artists name before I threw away the scraps. Yes! I threw away scraps! Aren’t you proud of me?!? Or…should I have saved them? Hmmmmmmm.
Happy, Merry, Blessed, Healthy, Prosperous New year to you too with LOTS more of your funny, engaging stories and totally uniquely you art!!!
Thanks Pat! Love that new affirmation altered art piece! Happy, Happy, Merry, Merry!
ReplyDeleteYW and Thanks CraftyChris! What is a rubbish stitcher?!? If you ask most of the free motion stitchers I know, they'd tell you my work is pretty sloppy...but I did make more effort not to be messy on this piece because I'm giving it to a special friend...who happens to be a nun and don't want her thinking it's rubbish! Happy, Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely looking quilt you have there. I am with you on the being able to finish things off. I have been in my craft room today doing a project just for the heck of it with no pressure or reason! Bliss!! I may even get started on this year's quilting challenge - triangles! Hmmn!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! and thanks for your visit!
xx
Thank you Sam! Today (and yesterday) was full of having all kinds of fun with our 4 year old granddaughter…but she’s gone home w mommy and daddy until tomorrow night so annie! grandma is going to get into the play room tonight!!! Okay, woman, YOU crack me up. I love this! I'm now using YOUR acronym, UFOs!! I'm also dealing with UFOs, and I may not be picturing them until next holiday because they are for... Christmas. Don't you love making up words?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!
Hey there Parabolic Muse! Darn! I wish I could take credit for making up the acronym - UFOs - but I first heard it from my sister and all her quilting friends!!! I'm not POSITIVE about the translation but pretty sure. There is absolutely NO rush. When you get to them...you get to them. Just enjoy!!! xxooxx
ReplyDeleteWow haven't you created a lot. I have some UFO's too. Love it. I have had some WIP's hanging around a little too long. Maybe this year I can get to them
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog too.
Have a great day
Carol
Thanks Carol! I don’t feel like I’ve created a lot…but people tell me that all the time. You wouldn’t believe how much time I spend doing things that take away from art!! But…I’m having fun getting stuff done…that’s for sure! Happy NY!!!
