MORE SLIDES!!! NOOOOO! PLEEEASE NO!!!

sunrise

I can't help it.

we finally found a clean, clear, BEAUTIFUL beach close by

I've just got to show you some of the pictures I've taken in the area.

The gate around our building. We have a porter!

A collaborative piece between GD1 and myself.

The first piece that my munchkin and I worked on together in the apartment. I totally took directions from her.

Remember when I told you that I think we have a $2million view? And what Jerry said?

There's a ship out there on the Caribbean.

Well...a couple weeks ago, I asked him to remove a satellite dish from outside a window because it was blocking my view and he #$^*%^^%*($^#%@ did it.

After he carried the dish downstairs to the trash, he came back up to take a look to see if he could see what in the world I was considering such a grand view.

Wish they showed up better in the pictures.

And he saw this...

The photos do nothing to portray the absolute majesty of these mountains.

That's the Sierra Nevada.

This was taken from the roof top of our building (5th floor) and shows you where we used to live...way up there near that farthest tower near the middle right.

And it has only shown itself to us that one time but it made a believer out of him.

Later that week, I got these shots of the city just before a thunderstorm. There were lightening flashes ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY.

I really must say...I love living here.

  2. May you never see anything you don't want to. (This coming from one who lives near a high crime city). Not a bad view, gal, not bad at all. I'm waiting for your night shot with a slow shutter speed.

    1. LOL - I see a lot here that I don't want to...but I choose not to focus on it. I'm on auto with the camera...but just might try that sometime. I used to know how to operate a fairly complex Canon. Thanks so much Annie.

  6. Wonderful views! Wonderful collaboration! Wonderful post!
(When I worked in a 'bad place' up north I used to see some disturbing things out the windows too. Some were pretty funny though!)

    1. Thank you, thank you. Thank you! And thankfully, I haven’t seen anything in this neighborhood that scares me. But Jerry and I share a ‘look’ regularly…and laugh! Gringos Locos!

    1. :) It's already happening! He is beginning to love it and thankfully, the living room window is 10 feet across...so there's plenty room! HE is the one who looks out the window every morning to see if the mountains are showing their face.

  8. I enjoyed your slides. There's nothing wrong with being grateful and thankful. I love looking at the sky, clouds and storms approaching, and rain too. Your porter must be very helpful, I'm sure.

    1. Thanks Sandi! We need rain here so bad and I can’t wait til we get another storm. The porters are great! We live on the 4th floor and carrying groceries up is a new experience…but they always offer to help. We’re learning to buy a little at a time and go more often. Works great!

    1. Thank you so much! I'm trying to use my mac exclusively and you're right... it gets better with every new little thing I learn. I really loved Outlook for my email and Mail is taking some time getting used to - but I'm determined.
