Antonella's Quilt

For some reason...I can't seem to get off of this computer chair tonight.
So...I figured I'd post my progress on Antonella's quilt.

It's finished...all but me beading the string which it will hang from.
Not a practical gift...but hopefully Antonella will enjoy looking at it.
I'm linking to Paint party Friday, because...my quilts are painted...just with fabric and thread...and sometimes paint and markers. I've also linked to Show and Tell Friday and Try it on Tuesday and The Craft Barn for their weekly theme which happens to be Fabric.
Right up my alley. :)
I can't resist showing you more of what's blooming in my back yard this week...

Our neighborhood Iguana...which we see a couple times a month...likes to keep our Coleus trimmed up...
Isn't that funny?!? He tops them off almost every night.
Ya'all have a good day now...

PS...I'm linking up a little early for Show and Tell Saturday....

  1. Awesome quilt! I know she will love it! Your garden is lovely too, but I think your flower is better (so it the flutterby! LOL)

  2. You have such an amazing way with color. Magical little quilt!!

I am quite jealous of your plants. You are able to grow things that we have to consider house plants and even then probably don't have much success with. (Interesting gardening help you have there with Mr. Iguana.)

  3. In love! Your quilts are just fabulous - I think anyone would prefer one of your creations practical or not. Antonella's gonna be thrilled, hugs xxxxx PS I know what you mean, I did my last post at 2 am and it's now just gone 7am - whats wrong with me why am I at the computer at such ridiculous times? Glad you're as addicted lol x

  5. Thank you so much Gayle. :) I faithfully use the color wheel because I really Don'T have a gift with color!!! We are lucky that plants just sort of grow themselves here in this hot, humid climate. I had learned how to garden in Virginia - after living there for 34 years - was just beginning to have some success in Florida - after 10 years...and have given the gardening job to my hubby...who is retired and NEEDS all the jobs I can find him. :)

  6. Thanks Jennie! Ditto. :) Sometimes, I wonder if my 'gifts' will be relegated to the back of the closet door...but WHATever...I enjoy making and giving them. :) And yes...the computer has become a lifeline to the English speaking world and like minded lovely friends such as you!!!

  7. Thank you Corrine! I can't WAIT for my dose of cool weather next month!!! We'll be spending a week in Virginia...where I really DON"T want to see snow...but cool...YES. Then off for 10 days in Florida where this time of year is much more tolerable than where I live. Woo Hoo!

  32. You have an iguana, how cool, we had one when I lived in Cuba eons ago; the quilt is lovely especially like the threads for the flower and the quilting pattern, is that hand or machine quilted? And the border frames it very nicely.

  33. Your quilt is amazing so thank you for sharing it with us for the TioT challenge this week.xx

  34. Thank you Patsy. I visited Antonella yesterday and she's only one month old, but told me she loves it. It fits right in with her nursery decor!

  35. Thanks Molly! :) The thing about living in Colombia is that it's so hot and humid year round...that things grow themselves. We just keep the weeds out and watch them thrive!

  36. Thanks Linda. We've seen two different Iguanas so far (one is smaller). The locals consider them pests to have around the house and catch them and EAT them. No thanks! I did the quilt using free motion with a variegated thread in the background and on pink on the butterfly and green on the flower! My free motion quilting skills are a little messy and I don't let stitch length bother me so sometimes it looks like my hand stitching. :)

To be honest, I never noticed the "follow" at the top; I must have one too, but never saw it! I always look for the follow on the sidebar and I think most bloggers have it so they look for it too. Keep it there! Glad to have met you!~
