Just a Few Gazillion More Pix of Carnaval...Barranquilla Style!

The thing I love most about Colombia...are it's people...and those we sat near were no exception...

This dude was pretty hilarious...and really layed it on.

As I said in earlier Carnaval posts...there seemed to be a slight obsession with weapons and almost every character was politically inspired.

Lots and lots and lots of men in drag...

The crowd gave this group an especially appreciative standing ovation...

They kept turning their heads just when I snapped a picture - but this costume was too pretty not to include...

And...lots and lots of skimpily clad beautiful women...and men...

We left about an hour before the parade ended. The streets were FULL of people trying to see over, between, under, etc

And others - like us -were just too tired for any more Carnaval...

Barranquilla, Colombia Carnaval...Next Installment

Here's my next installment of Carnaval pictures and videos!...

Once again...please leave comments if you know anything about ANY of these pictures...and Thanks!

Sorry about the color!

I must have hit something on the camera settings without knowing it and took several videos with little or no color. Then I missed several groups while trying to fix it. I'm SO technically challenged! But what's Carnaval without color?!?

This fella must be hot to trot because the crowd went a little crazy when he rolled by. Anybody know who he is?!?

They kept getting away from me while I was trying to reset the camera! I'm thankful the regular photos weren't affected.

Okey Dokey...this is driving me crazy...trying to get these on YouTube and then onto my blog...and in order with the pix!

So...good night and I'll load more tomorrow!!!

Baranquilla, Colombia Carnaval!!! One More Time...

 More of Carnaval!!!

Lots of Impostors...

Once again...I don't know the stories behind these characters so if you do...Please post a comment...

This is the Queen of Carnaval. We also saw her at Fiesta de Polleras...

(I hear she has to pay for all of her dresses).

Floats with music were plentiful!!!

Junior...as I've mentioned before...is HUGE in Barranquilla. That's because it's our city team and they're winners. The shark is their mascot...

I love the colors of their uniforms!

And the music and costumes, merriment and fun went on...

Lots of political jokes and characters that I just didn't "GET"...

And...Sophia has arrived so...more tomorrow!
